Phone Review: XPERIA Neo by Sony Ericsson

XPERIA Neo by Sony Ericsson
In this review, I will be discussing XPERIA Neo by Sony Ericsson.

XPERIA Neo by Sony Ericsson is similar to the previous Sony Ericsson Smartphone series but with some better and improved features. Being a part of the new Android lineup at Sony Ericsson, XPERIA Neo comes packed with the latest features.

The phone comes in support for GSM/EDGE/GPRS, while also 3G technology. The 3.7’’ screen of the phone, boasting 16 million colors, comes with a LED backlit LCD touch screen, which boasts a 480X854 FWVGA resolution, all positioned on a BRAVIA engine by Sony Mobile. The phone enjoys the latest version of Android installed, which is version 2.3, Gingerbread. The processor of the phone is 1gigahetz Scorpion CPU, Adreno 205 GPU and a MSM8255 Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipset. The RAM on the phone is 512 MB.

Now in the review, I will now to shift gears towards the other features of the phone. XPERIA Neo comes equipped with an 8mp camera which has autofocus, along with LED flash. In video recording mode, videos of 720p can be recorded at 30 frames per second. There is also a VGA camera placed on the front side of the phone, which allows users to participate in video calling. The phone is supportive of Wi-Fi connectivity. Also, an 8GB card comes pre-inserted in the phone while the phone otherwise supports a memory card till 32GB, easily meeting the storage requirements of almost all of us. Other features of the phone include support of Adobe Flash 10.2, micro HDMI port and Stereo FM.

In this review, it is important for me to shed light on some of the phone’s negatives and they are as follows: – Firstly, XPERIA Neo’s display does not have impressive angles of viewing. Moreover, other phones in the market come with dual-core CPUS, as well as video recording in 1080p, giving them a competitive advantage over this phone. Moreover, the loudspeaker of the phone does not have an up to par performance, whereas the phone also does not support videos in DivX and XviD supports.

To finish of my review, I would say that the phone comes with new technology but it has not prioritized imaging. The phone has better competitors in the market, in terms of features. However, on the whole, the phone is still an above average phone.
